Alexandria Library by Snohetta

Nice project the did back in the early 21th century. And its still one of my favorite architectural spots in the world. The library is sunken into the ground like a big puck, thats halfway gone. The Alexandria Library is one of the largest in the world with its over 80’000 sqm and the result of an 12 year old international super effort.
Even though the building is so big, it feels humane and intimate the scenery also works like a chameleon and during the year the buildings soul shows it self of. Some plants grow hard during spring and some just die during summer… The water shifts colors and well lets just say the whole thing is alive.
