All our love goes to the families in Japan, that are in shelters and struggle for everyday survival. Our hearths are with those who lost friends and family members. We will always look back at Japan as a warning to the rest of us, that mother nature is violent and has no respect, as we have no respect for her.

Japan Earthquake, Makes us feel alive
KRE House, 9 Lamborghini garage.
The brief for this house was quite simple: “I want a 9 car garage and be able to enjoy viewing one of them in the living room.” Takuya Tsuchida designed exactly such a house, it has an elevator for one car from the garage to the living room. I can totally understand the owner of a Lamborghini Countach Anniversary edition, to make such a request. I guess it’s no surprise that can find this house in Tokyo.
Plus / Mount Fuji Architects Studio
Architects: Mount Fuji Architects Studio
Location: Shizuoka, Japan
Site area: 988.58 sqm
Building area: 232.77 sqm
Total floor area: 380.44 sqm
Project Year: 2009
Photographs: Ken’ichi Suzuki
The site locates on mountainside of Izu-san, where Pacific Ocean can be looked down on the south. The untouched wilderness, covered with deciduous broad-leaved trees such as cherry trees and Japanese oaks, gives little level ground. But we saw faint glimmer of architectural possibility along the ridge. The architecture would be used as villa for weekends.
I didn’t want to just form the undulating landscape dotted with great trees as normal, nor design an elaborate architecture bowing down to the complex topography. What sprang to my mind is a blueprint for an architecture which is perfectly autonomous itself, at the same time seems to emerge as an underlying shape that the natural environment has been hiding. It’s abstraction of nature, to say. - words from the achitect.
MON Factory House

Site Area: 236.90 sqm
Total Floor Area: 259.78 sqm
Project Year: 2007

The site is located in Gojo, Kyoto. It is in a block of the typical division of a traditional residential area in Kyoto. The site faces the busy street of 4m in width on the west side. The backside of the high-rise buildings of 45m line up on the east side of the site. The neighbor houses are closely built in the south and the north of the site. We “lift the one-storied house to the sky” to create calm interior space. It is lifted to 3m in the sky. The space under that is lent as a parking lot.
Japanese Concrete Architecture

I love raw materials such as concrete, steel, stone mixed with glass and green solutions.
This is very traditional Japanese, you have a rather small living area of 102 m2, and a total building space of 85 m2. This is typical in Japan where there is not a lot of space for generous houses or apartments.
Some words from the Architects;
This house consists of box-space and roof-space. There are two bedrooms and bathroom in box-space, and there is storage (23.5 square meters) in an underground story. In roof-space, there are the entrance, kitchen and living room. The living room continues with the nature through an outside terrace.
The ground floor is space like the one-room of 78.5 square meters. In order to articulate this small space more attractively, box-space and roof-space are connected carefully.
TAKAO SHIOTSUKA Architectures

This is a house very similar to a house in Varberg, thats a 20 minutes car ride from Falkenberg where i live. This is designed by the Japanese architecture Takao Shiotsuka, you might noticed my style when it comes to architecture, kinda minimalistic and well executed detail levels. For example this house is nothing if you take away that big window. Are you interested see loads of images here at the architects site
House O by Sou Fujimoto Architects

A weekend house for a couple located on a rocky coast two hours drive from Tokyo. They are planning to settle down this place in the future. The site is a rocky stretch facing the Pacific Ocean with approaches sloping down to the water level. The characteristic of its plan, imagined like the branches of a tree, is a continuous one room. All the required spaces, entrance, living area, dining area, kitchen, bed room, Japanese style room, study room and bath room are arranged in this continuous one room.

So in the celebration of our 1th year this would be a future office building for us. Where we could enchant our creativity and grow, thats a nice vision. Then again vision are goals that you can never really reach but you will not stop aiming for it.

Not quite as mystic and hugh as Iron Mans little rocky retreat but i find it cosy, a house with a feeling. When you park that beautiful hybrid car of yours next to the house, this is what it looks like.
The house is a 1 stories and approximately 130 sq m, the garden are is an additional 550 sq m.

It’s a very nice autumn weather in Falkenberg today, still a bit to windy for my taste so i dream away to this amazing house in Japan made by Takao Shiotsuka Atelier a real concrete wet dream. So have a look over at his site, there are a bunch of photos and information about the house.
