iWatch – We want this Apple…

The Italian design studio ADR Studio has dreamed up this iPhone-inspired clock which translates as “iWatch”.

In their dreams so iWatch is equipped with WiFi, Bluetooth, built-in projector, weather application, RSS reader, and 16GB of internal memory.

If we ever get to see a iWatch on the market is something probably only Steve Jobs knows about. But I might think that it would be a nice market for Apple to break into, now that it has done so well in the other segments is tested.

The Modular weeHouse

This is the modular weeHouse, here in a set of 4 cubes.

The modular weeHouse comes in 4 diffrent pre-sets, you can buy 1 module, or you can buy 2, 3 or 4. Then combine them all together to create a house that fits your needs. One module can fit 2 beedrooms and one walk in closet, or just one big open kitchen with dining space.

Here they have combined the 4 modules with a “bridge” module, creates two house bodies.

When you speak of modular homes, people think you live in a trailer park, or that you want to live in containers… They have no clue what they are talking about, modular homes is the future, this setup allows you to whenever you need, de-attach your house, put it on 4 big trailer rigs, and move your entire home, and there is no need of packing your things or re-decorate an other home.

Have a good look on weeHouse website…

This modular house has a rusty finish.

So to all of those who doubts the future or modular homes, please take a minute or two to really think your thoughts true. When you realize who good a modular home really is, remember who told you… Have a really good weekend! / Linus

I did post that beautiful staircase the other day, and now i wanted to share a swedish designed staircase, not at all the same style or floating as the other one but still charming and humble in it’s own way.

The stair is steep and zic-zacy… Almost as steep as an ladder, it’s built and designed for a private residence in Stockholm, the capitol of sweden.

Title: Stair

I’ll let you decide for your self if you think this is a good design or bad, personally I LIKE!!!!

Task Lamp in it’s Natural Habitat

The Task Lamp Outdoors, Photography by Rune Guneriussen

In fact you haven’t noticed, I’m keen on functional design and timeless thinking in my head there is one over all that has been there on many great inventions and discovery’s, the Task Lamp. Existing in countless numbers, over thousands of braniac’s use it as their head work lamp. So if we have anyone to salute for a lot of hard work, it’s the task lamp.

courtesy to Rune Guneriussen for that sweet photo, please check out his site for more industrial design photos.

House O by Sou Fujimoto Architects

A weekend house for a couple located on a rocky coast two hours drive from Tokyo. They are planning to settle down this place in the future. The site is a rocky stretch facing the Pacific Ocean with approaches sloping down to the water level. The characteristic of its plan, imagined like the branches of a tree, is a continuous one room. All the required spaces, entrance, living area, dining area, kitchen, bed room, Japanese style room, study room and bath room are arranged in this continuous one room.

So in the celebration of our 1th year this would be a future office building for us. Where we could enchant our creativity and grow, thats a nice vision. Then again vision are goals that you can never really reach but you will not stop aiming for it.

Not quite as mystic and hugh as Iron Mans little rocky retreat but i find it cosy, a house with a feeling. When you park that beautiful hybrid car of yours next to the house, this is what it looks like.

The house is a 1 stories and approximately 130 sq m, the garden are is an additional 550 sq m.

Design of the day / Heater like you never seen it before

Here is a Heater that does not look like your regular metal heater that lives in that apartment of yours. This is a long metal tube, witch you can just have laying around on the floor or use it to heat up your bed. The idea here is to make your regular heating system more usable than just heating that air in your apartment or house, you can dry your shoes, clothes, or heat things that regular don’t get the heat from the heaters that are spread out in your home. Brionvega Il radiogrammofono RR126

I’ve told you guy before that there are somethings in life that i like more than others. One of those things are Analog stuff, well designed and produced objects mainly on the sound shelf. The Italian design house Brionvega make just that stuff, what about this RadioGrammofono… Makes you wanna design an entire house just with this as inspiration.

To give you an small hint about the future like i see it, this is it. Analog designed equipment with ultra high user-ability and simplicity beyond our imagination. I know people love the feeling of textures, materials & temperatures we still spend billions of dollar on magazines, why? Simply because we like having something in our hands. It’s the same thing with industrial design items, cars, houses, cellphones, computers we all like to have beautiful designed objects surrounding us. And in the future when technology will be 1000 of times smaller than today, we can afford to put effort in materials, textures, colors, analog-ish equipment is the way of the future.

The lamp that stitches itself

“A lamp that develops like a living organism: switch it on and it slowly starts growing by knitting its own lampshade at a speed of three rotations per hour.”

How amazing is that!! A lamp that stitches itself, i would have loads of them, and hang them and start them differently so they make an artish installation in my living room. As one of the co-founders of www.wearesuperfamous.com i must say that this is one of the most awesome things i’ve come across on the web the last 6 months. It has been on my desktop for a couple of days now and i was saving it for a moment when i wanted to post it.

Bio-organic-metal-organism that evolves into something living beautiful that you can touch, feel, see and hear this is a true superfamous product! Nadine Sterk is the designer of this product, haven’t found her site, if you do make sure you post it in the comments so i can update the post!
