The Future of the Internet and world wide economic wealth

So, what is happening on the Internet? Everything has turned very social media(ish) really fast. First, take a second, lean back, if you are on an iPad, are you comfortable? Thing’s weren’t like this 5 years ago… We did not have youtube or HTML5 ready websites that works beautiful on iPhones and Android phones. And what happens next? Are we ready for things to come, when people like those in France, that takes the dullness of social media surfing on Facebook to the next level, “apéro-géant” party’s allover France, thousands of people showing up, meeting other people from Facebook, this is just what the old and dull people said not would happen with technology. People would instead be sitting inside, drinking coke and play video games, of course we have that clientele but we also have murders and sociopaths?! don’t we?

I love the Internet, because this is possible with Internet, me writing to you about the speed of tech, and people taking back the soul purpose, socializing and making it a rich experience with help from technology and gadgets. Just like the iPresident (yes Barack Obama) kids allover the globe uses iPods, Youtube and Facebook. This was not normal 5 years ago. Morse law might not continue to accelerate the numbers of resistors in processors, however the usage and intensity on the Internet won’t slow down.

So is this bad or good for us?! By us i mean mankind, we can build amazing stuff, we can draw beautiful sketches and paint the most wonderful paintings. We are a creative breed, the non-humor side of it is, that we are also the most deconstructive living embolism on earth. We kill, plunder, rape and conduct wars that hurt in millions of human lives. We are at constant war against terrorism, cultures and religions.

So is this Internet something that we can unite in or shall this to shred us apart. In Europe we got ACTA, they simply want to stop piracy, and if you read into it, they want to stop individuality on the Internet as we know it. There are a thousand ways of looking at this, we can love it, hate it, live with it or destroy it. I’ve learned to live in symbiosis with it, I can’t really live without it, and I don’t want it to consume more of my life that it already does.

The photo above, shot by a young talented photographer from Sweden, Oskar Bakke somewhat speaks to me, it’s like the internet, in the left, we got the light and bright future where we all take advantage of the simplicity and goodness the internet can provide us with. In the right however is the dark, clouded part, the part where US Army send drone orders to UAV’s to murder innocent people, part of this information is transferred via the Internet. I however see the vehicle as us, mankind, driving really fast, like surreal fast, on an endless jet strip, in one of the fastest moving things on earth, away from that dark era, into a brighter future, with zero carbon footprints and a lifestyle that are not fixed on war and economic crisis, nor religion battles instead we are looking on quality in life, versatile urban living, diverse cultural experiences, across border knowledge bases and eco friendly solutions in every aspect of life.

This is a lot of words, but just fractions of whats inside my head, what are your thoughts on todays Internet and worldwide crises? Comment, write me an email, what ever suits you.

Osler House by Marcio Kogan

Not very far from the main design idea of the Gama Issa House, Marcio Kogan leaves us amazed once more, but this time with Osler House. Osler House is located in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, a city which is a world reference for urban planning. It is very similar in the following with Gama Issa House, basically, we still have the parallelogram box, but the second top part of the box is enlarged in dimensions from its base and is pivoted and rotated to a 90 degree angle. Osler House basically forms the letter T when one looks at the site plan. Visit www.marciokogan.com.br for more images and info.

The White House starts to grow their own ECO garden.

So Earth Hour is less than 2 days away, and we have the biggest environmental work ever ahead of us, Michelle Obama starts to grow vegetables and berries in the old kitchen garden on the west garden on the premisses on the White House.

Barack Obama is now the 44th President of the United States of America, Yes we can!

We are gathered here today on this faithful day in Washington, on the Capital Hill. I just saw history been re-written, as the United States of America got it’s 44th President Barack Obama. We have witness history today people. I did not think this would happen during my lifetime. We have seen the devastation George Bush has created and now we will strike back as one, we will preserve our planet, we will grow stronger and we will stand and fight together. Everyone is born equal, made equal and we shall be equal. For You Whom Are About To Rock, President Obama – We Salute You! and we support you, and you know what, YES WE CAN!!!!!!!!

Earth From Above & The Skyline of Tomorrow

This has been quite a giving day if you ask me, i haven’t got anything done, but i have been successful in the fact that i have enjoyed the blogging today. This is just one more and i think we are good for today then, a little something The Earth From Above a beautiful collection of photos taken around the glove to show us that we can sustain our environment and make the earth a better place. The top photo is from Dubai and the photo below is from the frozen stone forest in china.

The Growing Jewelry

This is one of those things that fluorescence on the web right now, at least the part that i roam. It’s an ECO friendly jewelry, that grows moss… Uuurk might that upper east sider say, and way to go if you ask a San Francisco bohemia. I think i would go the geeky way and just say, I’m stoked, love it and want it… Always dreamed on moss laying around my stuff. See more pictures on Hafsteinn Júlíusson’s site, also the creative head behind this idea.

A little short film about Global Warming

Just to make my stand point on this issue, i think we need to stop global warming. I don’t think there is any other way than to work together. I feel that the environment talk has been put away by media due to the economy crises around the world, but don’t forget the planet earth because without it we are all lost in space…

Why i think i love New York part II

Another tuesday, another reason why i think i love New York. The first reason was the cobble stone, the second reason that i mentioned a little bit last time is the fact that there is a hugh park in the middle of one of the worlds metropolitan cities. When i say hugh i defiantly mean it, its almost one kilometer wide, and stunning four kilometers long (40°46′55″N 73°57′58″W). You know that i come from a small town in Sweden with aprox 20 000 inhabitants within the city core, if i just give you some fast facts, central park has 25 000 000 visitors every single year. It was built 1857, witch makes it 151 year old. (it did not open until 1859 so it will most certainly have its 150 anniversary next year).

Something that i really like about the big apple is the park, it makes it possible to just relax from the city madness and get away from the chaos. But another thing, the nature is not that far from the urban environment and that takes the thoughts right back to home, where i can get on the bike for 10 minutes and be out on the country side. Not that central park equals to the red barns and Pig Farms, but it makes me positive about the future. Thank you for letting me tell you why i think i love New York have a great tuesday morning and enjoy work.

Honda FCX Clarity

Well this is not a super duper hot news story, but some part of it is, Honda has just put up and Youtube Channel. On that channel they have put up different videos from honda products, like Asimo, FCX Clarity, Honda Walking Assist Device and so on. Have a look at the video of the FCX clarity and ask your self why you still drive that gasoline consuming car… HONDAS YOUTUBE PAGE
