Why I Think I Like Dubai, part I

If you are a frequent reader you know that I currently are writing about Why I Think I Love New York City part II& part I I thought it was time for a little update but i have some more subjects then New York. And I don’t Love Dubai, i just minor Like it!

One of the facts is that it’s the one and only place that really take the “Nothing is Impossible” and live by that. I love the idea that nothing is impossible, but there are not many places out there that encourage that.

Here is one photo that make all of these words into something you can touch, feel, grasp even though it’s in front of you, you still find it hard the believe. Dubai is not just a pice of land in the dessert, its a monument of mankind, a six sense of durability and creativity. We like to say that well its just a hype, but it’s not Dubai is the metropolitan of tomorrow. The act green think green and build green, they don’t see limits and the reach for the stars, literally the Burj Dubai is the proof.

So what I’m trying to say is that the first fact about Why I Think I Like Dubai has nothing to do with unbelievable architecture skills or the fact that Dubai makes land and thousands of new kilometers of beach front every single day. I like Dubai in the simplest of ways, because they don’t tell you things are impossible, they tell you that nothing is and only you and your imagination sets the rules. Thats why I Like Dubai. Can anyone Second that?! Or I’m a just a stupid guy in a cold land up north…

22th September Burj Dubai Madness

Thursday morning coffee and a marvelous view over the Burj Dubai Scyscraper, The Address. The first time I saw the address was when I went my first year on media education program. I was stoked, i started talking to people about Dubai and all the craziness going on there, but people wouldn’t listen so i gave up. But it seems now that people are more than willing to listen about all madness that goes on down there. So to give you a quick look over the progress, here’s an image from monday noon.

What are your thoughts about the massive building that goes on in Dubai? Just give us your thoughts if you feel like it. Keep track on Burj Dubai, Smell yah later.

Sea Side Properties in Dubai

Let’s just face it, Dubai is the place on earth that moves fastest right now. Not just when it comes to economics, but building and people moving in as well. Just a couple of days ago Dubai Prince laid an offer on Chrysler building in New York City ($ 4,6 Billion) and some new sea side villas, like the one on top here are planned in the gulf outside Dubai shores.

Burj Dubai progress May 08

Here is a 2 minute film with the Burj Dubai building progress, currently the world tallest building standing, even taller then the KVLY-TV tower in North Dakota. Check out the Burj Dubai official site or check out the blog dedicated to the building (better one; day to day updates)

Dubai Madness / Waterfront City

It’s now official, Dubai is the worlds craziest playground for architectures. We have had multiple post before with Dubai Art/Architecture, this though takes the grand prize. The new Waterfront City is a city built upon a man made island of 140,000,000 square metres. The biggest contractor in the world on this area has the contract, Nakheel.

The Waterfront City will be built from scratch, the cities vibrant core will exist of the squared artificial island. The new city will create 1,5 million new inhabitants and the waterfront development and other regions will create ONE MILLION new jobs.

The core island will be hooked to the main land via, both the new metro-train system and pedestrians strays and car bridges. Although Dubai is aiming on having as little cars as possible to create an Urban retreat.

So it all started with Burj Al Arab then went on to The Palm Trilogy and then went even further with the Burj Dubai. Sky is really the limit in Dubai not your dreams.. Because in Dubai even your dreams is possible, there is also the Dinosaur Park, in Dubailand will be created.

When Finished building the Waterfront City will be the most high-tech, Eco city on the planet. The Architectures has planned the building so that they are preventing hot winds from entering the city, and making the moist drain to a self watering system. They are planting trees so that the air will be purified, the are using the water breeze and aim it into the inland to create a cooler atmosphere in the otherwise 111 F medium heat. (44 Celcius / 317 Kelvin). This is by far The largest building site in the world obtaining over 35% of the world lifting cranes, Dubai is the Future and it’s already here.
