Music video on vimeo.com (embed was disabled)
More and more people are filming “real” music videos on DSLRs I personally use the Canon 7D on a daily basis. I love the video function and use it frequently. What do you boys and girls think?
This is the new DSLR from Canon, the EOS 550D or Rebel T2i as it’s know as in the US. This is the update on the best selling EOS 500D. And it got some nice new features.
Facts: 18.7 megapixels, 3.7 BPS (full resolution), ISO 100-6400. It records video in 1080p in 24 / 25 / 30 fps or 720p with 50 or 60 fps.
One cool feature is the connection for external stereo microphone and a bonus is the new wider display on the back. The 550D will be available in March and the price is due to 900$ with a kit lens (EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS.).
So if you dissect your old cannon lens you’ll end up with something similar like this. When the lens stopped to work, young photographer here decided to take it apart he ended up with a bunch of rings, wires and other camera stuff. Check out album here
Here is the Leica M8.2 and it kicks the little brothers M8′s ass, not really that hard but there are some updates. It features an ultra scratch-resistance sapphire crystal LCD display, for those days when you really feel like scratching your camera screen. There are a bunch of modes on the camera, full manual ofcourse and also some Auto modes for those who don’t wanna bother using manual mode.
It’s available in two different colors, black or brushed metal (silverish). The camera is the real deal if you see to what you get. If this was like a car it would be that Lamborghini that gave you all the chicks. To bad you have to sell your soul to afford it, or at least sell something to cover that 6,200$ bill.
So i just want to point out that we are not dSLR fan boys, but the thing is that the Arms Race is just crazy. Yesterday we got a new Canon dSLR and well today Nikon presented their new Pro-Amateur dSLR, the D90. The latest hour or two i have been browsing the Chase Jarvis site, and i also looked at the video they have made due to the Nikon D90 (yes Nikon gave Chase Jarvis crew a bunch of D90′s to test)
This is one of those things i like about Nikon, they give things in the hands of the users and listen to them and together they give back the best photography products on the earth.
Some of the tech:
- 12.3 megapixels (the same luscious chip that’s in the Nikon D300)
- D-movie function (that’s right, MOVIE function. 1280×720, .avi format, HD720p)
- High ISO/low-noise performance (Nikon’s ace in the hole. I shot this at 3200 and dug it.)
- 4.5 frames per second
- 3 inch, 920dot LCD with Live View
- Pop up flash with ‘commander’ mode to interface with Nikon’s lighting system
- GPS tagging
So i use a dSLR camera almost on a daily bases, and i role with a Nikon D40, for me a Nikon has been the one and only choice and i think thats still the case. But today Canon took a step forward in the dSLR arms race by announcing the EOS 50D. The 15-megapixel prosumer model is the company’s first to sport the new DIGIC 4 processor, promising features like peripheral illumination correction, ISO sensitivity of up to 12,800!!!!, a 3-inch, 920,000 dot LCD, Live View (thats when you use the LCD as a view finder), a self-cleaning system, and loads of more features.
