Caravan by INHOUSE New York

Caravan is a Coffee Roastery, Bar & Restaurant based out in London. They have a well planned and over the edge executed graphic profile signed by design agency Inhouse. The profile is built upon Jackson Burkes font Trade Gothic and a textured weapons shield. Trade Gothic is a classic print font and in the hands of Inhouse it even gives you french vibes. We are weak for the cuff links and bottles.

Enjoy.

A Beast of Machines… Fair trade coffee!?

A Little 6 minutes long film about a giant coffee machine treadmill… Is this fair trade?! You see for yourself. BoingBoing corresponded with the 2008 US World Barista Champion to take a look at coffee harvesting in Brazil. Because otherwise, we’d never have known about giant harvesting vehicles that engulf whole trees or the juxtaposition of automated and traditional drying, roasting and packing techniques that follow collection.

Nutella Espresso with frothed milk

So yeah you think thats gay but really its not, it’s more like a Mocha but with hazelnuts. So it’s good damn delicious and we have to celebrate the World Nutella Day. If any of you have a go at this, please comment on it and share your visions on coffee with us… We are both big coffee geeks/nerds/addicts so we know a good cup when we see one, this is a bit spoiled but you need to try before you judge.

Recipe

1 tbs Nutella
45 ml (3 tbs) espresso
frothed milk

Spoon the Nutella into a small glass (if it is too stiff, pop in the microwave for 10 seconds). Pour in the espresso and top it off with some frothed milk.
Stir well before drinking (not before serving).

Lovely Coffee Place

I am a big coffee junky, right now I’m drinking some starbucks gold blend that i got shipped over here from the US. But we have loads of mini-roasters and special blends here, the culture is blowing up huge and fast but thats an other story that i will talk about later on, but for now this cute coffee place in San Francisco called; BlueBottle Coffee Company is just amazing! They have their kiosk in a small garage, check out their site here

Espresso Machine from Ascaso

This minimalistish espresso machine from Ascaso needs a fanatic cleaner or just a coffee loving geek like me self. I have the Isomac Milano Giada (perlemo white), that is also a model where you need to really clean it (witch i do a lot, and sometimes completely don’t). But the Basic model from Ascaso is a lot newer than my Giada and has a lot of updates. Nice size, good water tank placement, and sweet design, so if you compare design and usability this is a good machine. Price from 370€ / 578$ / 3700SEK
