<p>This is way before Nike +iPod these Puma running shoes were affixed with a sort of pedometer computer. The pedometer could be reset and it worked in a way where it counted up time and distance. All the information could then be downloaded to the game port on <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_II"><strong>the Apple II.</strong> </a></p>
<p>This is so before its time that it&#8217;s just stunning, i mean in the mid 80s we had nerd watches with calculators and we had the birth of PC&#8217;s and MAC&#8217;s but a small pedometer Puma shoe is just extraordinary. </p>
<p><a href="http://www.digibarn.com/collections/articles/allan-lundell/index.html"><strong>Allan Lundell</strong></a> used these shoes in Santa Cruz, California in the mid 1980s. His words where something like <em>&#8220;nothing could get people&#8217;s attention more than bending down and pushing a button on your shoes and hearing them beep, the definitive nerd&#8221;</em></p>
