Great, inspiring thoughts, Linus! I, too, think positively about the future of the world; heading into that pure, white, bright light.

Over the past few years I've discovered The Zeitgeist Movement and The Venus Project. They paint the way for a more peaceful and resourced-based economy in the world. It's truly interesting and inspiring ideas!

I look forward to sharing this future with people like us. Giddy up!

Hello Linus,

My name is Juan S. Alvarez, I'm a young Colombian (soon-to-be) architect currently living in Miami.

The internet to me is humans' best invention after the wheel. If it wasn't for it, I wouldn't be able to "travel" the world through images and videos. It is amazing how much information we can share, how quick and how accessible it is.
It is definitely a great avenue for education and collaborations.

Just like anything we humans do, it has some counterparts. I do think that it leads to a more nomadic lifestyle with the creations of online games like Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Farmville and others.
In some cases, I think we have lost some of our privacy especially through products such as Google Earth. It's insane how through my iPhone, I could open up Echofon/Search/Nearby Tweets see who lives around me and see exactly what their house looks like.

Einstein did not intend for Hiroshima to happen. Creative people did not intend for modern warfare to happen.

Only time will tell where we go from here. I'm anxious of the future though and I hope through blogs like this we could aid our minds and future.

- Juan S. Alvarez

Great article.

It's really true what you say, we are moving incredible fast on the internet. And from such a magnificent innovation that internet is, it can be used both for good and bad. Just like a vehicle can kill thousands of people a year and at the same time saving them from dying in case of emergency.

But I think that the Internet have been used for more good than bad. It's just so awesome that kids in developing countries have access to the same educationally information that we have. I think we have a bigger chance of solving worldwide crises if people all over the world have the possibility to get information and express themselves through the internet.
